Whether you are a unit owner or tenant, understanding The Madison's governance structure is an important part of living in a condominium community.
The Madison is subject to the provisions of a number of governing documents. These provide for the legal structure and operation of the community; furthermore, they define the rights and obligations of the Unit Owners Association, its governing body, and members.
Our governing documents include the following:
*The Declaration of the Condominium
*The Bylaws of the Condominium
*Rules & Regulations (which include all resolutions in our Book of Resolutions)
In addition, there are state and local laws that apply; these include but are not limited to:
*Virginia Condominium Act
*Virginia Non-Stock Corporation Act

Policy Resolutions
Policy Resolution No. 2008-01 — relates to collection of routine and delinquent assessments.
Policy Resolution No. 2008-03 — relates to establishing procedures for due process enforcement cases.
Policy Resolution No. 2008-04 — relates to leasing of units.
Policy Resolution No. 2009-01 — relates to vehicles and parking on the comdominium property.
Virginia House Bill 516
In July 2008, the Virginia General Assembly enacted a number of changes that impact common interest community associations such as ours. These changes may be found in House Bill 516.
